SheenandCaulfieldareBoandRoy,respectively,twoCaliforniahighschoolgradswhoventtheirfrustrationsbygoingonakillingspree.Inahard-hitting,semidocumentary-likestyle,thefilmexaminesthedamagedpsychesofthesetwokillersastheywendtheirwaythroughoutLosAngelesrandomlychoosingandthenmurderingtheirvictims.Themurderscenesareespeciallybrutal,butdon'tborderonthegratuitousastheyservetoillustratetheduo'stwistedminds.There'sasubplotofgaybashing(oneofthefilm'smostdisturbingsequences)whichbringstolightRoy'sclosetedhomosexualfeelings.Gaysexualrepressionresultinginaspreeofrageanddeathisthedisturbingthemetothisteendrama.Twomalehighschoolersandbestfriendsgoonarampageofviolence,killingagayman(thattheypickupinagaybar)andthenkillingwithabandon.Couldtheunresolvedsexualattractionandtensionbetweenthetwobethecauseoftheirpsychoticbehavior?
